Job summary

Huntsville Hospital is seeking an Admitting Registrar to collect demographic information and verify eligibility, benefits, and pre-cert requirements for all inpatients and Behavioral Health patients in partial or IOP programs.

You will provide insurance details to Registration management daily, ensure all admission documents are signed and filed, and make judgment decisions to secure payment arrangements. Collaboration with Case Management ensures pre-certification is obtained.

Qualifications

• Must be able to utilize a calculator and type 35 words per minute.
• Experience with personal computer applications or data input terminals preferred but not required.
• Experience in a healthcare facility is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Obtain demographic information and verify eligibility, benefits and pre-cert requirements for all inpatients and Behavioral Health patients in partial or IOP programs.
• Provide insurance information to Registration management for daily review.
• Ensure all necessary admission documents are signed and placed on the medical chart.
• Make judgment decisions to secure appropriate payment arrangements for accounts.
• Coordinate information with Case Management to ensure pre-certification is obtained.
