Overview
The Pathways Success Scholars program is designed to support the First-in-Flight initiative for First-Generation students. The program is structured to foster academic achievement, a sense of belonging, leadership, resource connection, and personal success for students.

Responsibilities
- Provides continuous engagement with assigned mentees through check-ins and one-on-one interactions
- Connects mentees to Wake Tech services, resources, and opportunities
- Presents to students and the community about specific topics related to Wake Tech resources and student success strategies
- Co-facilitates programs, breakout sessions, and discussions to enhance student engagement
- Assists in planning and implementing first-generation student outreach and engagement
- Recruits students to actively participate in their college experience, both inside and outside the classroom
- Maintains confidentiality regarding mentees’ academic progress and personal information
- Completes time sheets, program tracking, and other required tasks and forms by designated time frames
- Attends all training and seminars that do not interfere with class schedules
- Upon hire, completes certified peer educator training
Qualifications
- Ability to respond effectively to the needs of the student population
- Strong verbal and nonverbal communication skills
- Positive, welcoming attitude with a growth mindset
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Familiarity with Wake Tech’s academic and student resources
Minimum Requirements
- Current enrollment in a minimum of six credit hours at Wake Tech
- Must be in good conduct standing with the college
- Commitment of at least 2 hours per week to mentoring responsibilities
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous leadership or mentoring experience
- Experience with first-generation college students
