Job summary

Penn State Health Lancaster Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues under minimal supervision. The role requires adherence to regulatory guidelines and delivers test results used in diagnosis and treatment in a 0.60 FTE, part-time, day shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology or equivalent military laboratory training.
• Must be eligible for ASCP/AMT or equivalent board certification exam within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells and tissues.
• Adheres to lab policies and procedures and regulatory guidelines (FDA, CAP, OSHA, CUA, Joint Commission).
• Reports accurate test results to aid diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease.

Education

Associates degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology

Eligible for ASCP, AMT or equivalent board certification within 18 months of hire
