Penn State Health - Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA is seeking a part-time Medical Lab Technician for the Evening shift to perform complex tests on blood, body fluids, and tissues, identify pathogens, and assist in transfusion testing.

Qualifications

• Assoc. degree in Laboratory Science or Medical Laboratory Technology with required chemistry/biology coursework and eligibility to sit for a certification exam.
• MLT Certification through ASCP, AMT, ACHI or equivalent must be obtained within 18 months of employment.
• Applicants trained outside the United States must provide official credential evaluation for CLIA equivalency.

Responsibilities

• Perform complex laboratory tests on blood, body fluids, cells, and tissues.
• Identify bacteria, parasites, and other microorganisms; analyze chemical content of fluids.
• Cross match blood for transfusion and organ transplantation; aseptically prepare cells for cellular therapies.
