Job summary

Roswell Park Care Network is seeking a part-time Clinical Lab Assistant in Depew, NY, Tue-Fri from 12:30pm to 5:30pm. Training will be provided and you will join the Community Pathology Team.

The role involves processing requests, accessioning samples, and supporting pathologists. Responsibilities include handling laboratory reports, maintaining inventories, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and assisting with quality control and administrative tasks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Two years of technical lab or medical experience or training.

Responsibilities

• Read and follow laboratory policies, protocols, and procedures.
• Answer phones, route calls, and provide routine information to services.
• Transcribe and distribute medical reports and records.
• Process and order laboratory materials in LIS.
• Maintain inventory and track laboratory supplies.
• Retrieve lab information from multiple information systems.
• Handle specimens with proper precautions.
• Perform immediate specimen processing.
• Package and ship materials between labs and offices following regulations.
• Ensure HIPAA compliance and de-identification; handle external shipments.
• Assist with inventory control and documentation for required records.
