Description:

Prepares tissue, biopsies, and skin for gross pathology. Responsibilities include dictating specimen descriptions, cutting specimens, loading them into processors to prepare blocks, and analyzing specimens. Registers patients and specimens, assigns unique numbers, and orders tests linked to charges. Processes surgical specimens via a frozen process for rapid analysis during surgery.

Education:

• Minimum: Associate’s Degree or equivalent.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in sciences such as biology or anatomy.

Hours of Work:

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 5 pm - 9 pm. No holidays or weekends.
