Description:

Prepares tissue, biopsies, and skin for gross pathology. Gross pathology involves dictating the overall description of specimens, including size, cutting, loading specimens into processors to prepare specimen blocks, and performing pathology analysis. Registers patient/specimens, assigns unique numbers to each specimen, and orders tests tied to charges. Processes surgical specimens via frozen section to quickly prepare specimens for Pathologist analysis during surgery.

Education:

• Minimum: Associate’s Degree or equivalent.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree with emphasis in sciences such as biology and anatomy.

Hours of Work:

40 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 5 pm - 9 pm. No holidays or weekends.
