Job summary

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in health science, Pathologists’ Assistant or equivalent.
• Licensed or eligible to practice as Pathologists’ Assistant in New York State.
• ASCP certification or eligible for certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive macroscopic examination for pathology specimens and prepares for Pathologist review.
• Assists with dissection, orientation, and preparation of frozen sections.
• Maintains QA and adheres to SOPs for specimen handling and processing.
• Communicates with clinicians regarding submitted specimens and patient history.
• Ensures proper documentation, safety and confidentiality in the laboratory.
