Job summary

You will work with experienced pathologists in a fast-paced lab, perform gross examinations, assist in gross room operations, and ensure compliance with NYSDOH, CAP, and CDC standards. The position offers a 40-hour work week and a competitive hourly rate.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in biology or related science with supervised on-the-job training (≥3 years) or PA training program.
- NY state licensure as Pathologists’ Assistant required.
- ASCP PA(ASCP)CM certification preferred.
- Additional certifications like Histological Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technician are a bonus.
Responsibilities
- Perform precise gross examinations and dissections of surgical specimens.
- Assist the gross room with daily operations and workflow.
- Follow NYSDOH, CAP, and CDC standards for compliance.
- Collaborate with pathologists and clinical staff to deliver timely analyses.
- Maintain records and ensure lab supplies are stocked.
