Qualifications

• Master’s degree in health science, Pathologists’ Assistant required.
• Current NYS license as Pathologist’s Assistant or eligible to obtain.
• ASCP certification required.

Responsibilities

• Performs comprehensive macroscopic examination for Pathology specimens in preparation for Pathologist microscopic examination.
• Assists with dissection and orientation of specimens and preparation of frozen sections with Pathologists during normal hours.
• Under supervision, performs postmortem examinations (neonatal autopsies only) and prepares microscopic sections.
