Qualifications

• B.S. Degree in Biology or related science with Pathologists’ Assistant Program certification.
• New York State license required; ASCP certification preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' relevant experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in gross examination and dissection of surgical specimens under a pathologist’s supervision.
• Describe gross anatomical features and prepare tissue sections for microscopic examination.
• Ensure accurate accessioning and labeling of surgical pathology specimens.
• Maintain LIS entries and update voice recognition templates as needed.
• Collaborate with histology staff to support frozen section and routine processing.
