Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina's Quality and Safety Director for Path/Lab ICCE reports to the System QAPI Director and collaborates with Path/Lab ICCE leadership to oversee the QAPI and safety program across the MUSC Pathology and Laboratory services.

This leadership role drives data-based improvements, mentors a team of managers, coordinators, and analysts, and ensures regulatory compliance, risk management, and event reviews are completed to support patient safety and performance.

Qualifications

• Graduate degree in healthcare quality or related field preferred with significant experience.
• Experience in healthcare quality/safety programs in a healthcare setting required.
• Experience in pathology and laboratory services is required.
• Certification as CPQ or Patient Safety professional is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversees all QAPI and regulatory/accreditation activities across Path/Lab ICCE.
• Leads data collection, analysis, and presentation to governance groups.
• Manages a team including managers, coordinators, data analysts, and registry staff.
