Job summary

Troutman Pepper in San Diego seeks an Intellectual Property Services Assistant (IPSA) to support the Health Care Life Sciences Practice Group. The IPSA assists with day-to-day responsibilities, maintains client and attorney contact, and ensures confidentiality and policy compliance.

Responsibilities include preparing and filing patent applications with the USPTO, handling domestic and foreign filings, assembling IDS, drafting prosecution documents, managing dockets, and maintaining client

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a patent environment.
Four or more years of patent prosecution support experience.
Experience with USPTO and foreign filings is preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare and file patent application documents with the USPTO.
Handle procedures of domestic and foreign patent offices with minimal supervision.
Assemble and submit Information Disclosure Statements (IDS) across multiple patent families and jurisdictions.
Draft prosecution documents for paralegal and/or attorney review before submission.
Complete internal and/or client checklists as required.
Independently manage day-to-day upkeep of an assigned client portfolio.
Monitor U.S. and foreign docket deadlines.
