Job summary

Troutman Pepper Locke LLP is seeking an experienced Paralegal in the Health Care Life Sciences Practice Group. The role supports patent prosecution, docket management across US and international filings, and client-attorney teamwork.

The candidate will handle IDS, filings with USPTO and PCT, and maintain detailed records under attorney supervision. The position emphasizes strong organizational skills, ability to work in a hybrid in-office setting, and dedication to high-quality, timely work

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; combination of training, education and experience considered.
• Minimum eight (8) years of progressive patent prosecution experience, including docket management and filings.
• Working knowledge of sequence listings highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Ensure policies and procedures are followed day-to-day for assigned duties.
• Monitor deadlines across US and international dockets and coordinate with attorneys and clients.
• Prepare and file patent applications, pre-grant filings, and related filings under attorney supervision.
• Efficiently manage IDS data and file IDS with the USPTO.
• Manage recordation of assignments and name changes in the US and internationally.
• Provide back-up support to team members as needed.
• Maintain electronic worksheets and firm file in the document management system.
