Job summary

WilmerHale in Boston seeks an IP docketing professional to manage US and foreign patent docketing across offices, ensuring deadlines and filings are accurate. You will review correspondence, enter data into the docketing system, and support attorneys, paralegals and staff.

This role supports a hybrid schedule with strong focus on accuracy, efficiency, and client service in a leading law firm environment.

Qualifications

• Experience with USPTO rules and docketing processes.
• Professional demeanor with attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency with CPI, Word, Outlook, Access, IPDAS.
• Ability to work overtime as needed.
• Willingness to adapt to technological changes, including AI tools.

Responsibilities

• Review incoming USPTO and foreign correspondence for deadlines and docket in the system.
• Enter new patent records into the docketing database and confirm filings.
• Dedocket actions and update filing packages in the workspace.
• Enter bar dates and target filing dates into CPI from emails.
• Ensure accuracy of docketing data and correct as needed.
• Enter assignment data into docketing database.
• Save daily mail to document management system and report docketed mail to attorneys and staff.
• Assist with coverage for final email reminders and docket daily Patent Center correspondence.
