Job summary

AmLaw 50 Firm is seeking a Patent Agent to join its Intellectual Property - Patents Practice in a hybrid environment across multiple locations. The candidate should hold a bachelor's degree in EE, CE, CS, or Physics and have at least 2 years of patent experience, with strong writing and analytical skills.

Preferred backgrounds include data science, ML/AI, wireless systems, sensors, semiconductors, optics, or related fields. Experience with Microsoft Office is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE/CE/CS/Physics with excellent academic record.
• 2+ years of patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Experience in data science, ML, AI, wireless comms, sensors/semiconductors, optics is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Work with inventors and attorneys to prepare and prosecute patent applications.
• Identify inventions through technical discussions with inventors.
• Perform novelty and clearance searches to delineate inventions.
• Draft patent applications and negotiate patent scope with the USPTO.
• Prepare reports and support documentation for patent portfolio management.
