Desert Mountain Club in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Pastry Cook I to join our culinary team. You will assist the Pastry Chef, produce daily pastry orders, and help develop standardized recipes that maintain quality across clubhouses.

The ideal candidate brings at least two years of pastry and bakery experience and a positive, collaborative work ethic. Benefits include PTO, education scholarships, health coverage, and more, with flexible scheduling options.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Startup of kitchen equipment.
• Organize and produce daily pastry orders and production.
• Prepare plated desserts, chocolates, confections, entremets, frozen desserts, pies and cakes.
• Daily baking of breads for breakfast and other meals.
• Collaborate with Pastry Chef on large function desserts.
• Ensure quality inspection, storage, and breakdown of products.
• Maintain cleanliness of bakery area.
• Monthly inventory.
• Assist with pastry orders, costing and BEO tracking.

Working alongside the Pastry Chef, you will assist with daily bakery production, create signature desserts that reflect the individuality of each clubhouse, and help develop and execute standardized pastry recipes that ensure consistency and quality throughout the Club.

• Responsible for startup of kitchen Equipment
• Responsible for organization and production of daily pastry orders, special requests, and production
• Prepare all plated desserts, chocolates, confections, entremets, frozen desserts, glazes, pies, cakes, and other bakery items in accordance with established recipe and presentation standards.
• Daily baking of breakfast and other breads for each restaurant.
• Dessert pars and garnishes
• Specialty cakes and pies
• Consulting with Pastry Chef in the planning of desserts for large functions.
• Responsible for quality inspection, proper breakdown, and storage of products.
• Monitoring equipment and ensuring all specialized pastry baking tools are in working order.
• Maintaining the good running order of specialized pastry baking equipment.
• Responsible for the overall cleanliness of bakery area.
• Monthly inventory
• Pastry Orders/FoodTrack, costing, and financials.
• BEO Tracking
• Co-create new, innovative, and exciting seasonal desserts to enhance menus and engage members.
• Executing pastry orders for catered events and accommodating special requests.
• Provide excellent recipes.
• Other duties as assigned by management.
• Required to stand and walk – Regularly
• Required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds – Frequently
• Required to push and/or pull 90+ pounds and lift to 90 pounds with assistance – Occasionally
• Exposed to extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather) – Regularly
