**Job Summary:**
The Pastry Cook is responsible for preparing and baking a variety of desserts, pastries, and other baked goods in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This role requires creativity, precision, and a deep understanding of baking techniques. The Pastry Cook ensures that all baked items meet the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation.

**Responsibilities:**

  1. Prepare doughs, batters, fillings, and other components for baked goods.
  2. Bake and decorate cakes, cookies, pastries, and desserts per recipes and specifications.
  3. Experiment with new recipes and techniques to create unique desserts.
  4. Inspect and ensure the quality and consistency of all baked goods.
  5. Taste and adjust recipes to maintain high standards.
  6. Coordinate with the kitchen team for timely production and delivery.
  7. Follow health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
  8. Clean and sanitize workstations, tools, and equipment regularly.
  9. Properly store ingredients and baked goods.
  10. Monitor inventory levels and assist in ordering supplies.
  11. Follow detailed recipes from the Head Pastry Chef.
  12. Measure ingredients accurately for consistency.
  13. Work efficiently to meet production deadlines.
  14. Multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.

**Qualifications:**

  1. Experience in a bakery or pastry kitchen preferred.
  2. Proficiency with baking techniques and pastry preparation.
  3. Strong knowledge of baking and pastry arts.
  4. Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  5. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  6. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  7. Culinary training or certification is a plus.
  8. Understanding of food safety standards.
  9. Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects.

**Physical Demands:**

  1. Ability to stand for long periods.
  2. Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  3. Manual dexterity for shaping and decorating baked goods.
  4. Work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures.
