Job summary

Sur La Table in Naperville, IL seeks a Chef Instructor, Pastry to lead in-store pastry classes and serve as the pastry authority. You will teach techniques, follow recipes, and support sales of bakeware and tools through hands-on instruction.

The role emphasizes customer-focused service, culinary expertise, and sharing knowledge to build engagement and loyalty across classes and events.

Qualifications

21+ years of age required.
Culinary arts degree preferred or extensive culinary experience.
1-2 years kitchen operations experience.
Valid Food Manager Certification.
Excellent communication, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

Represent Sur La Table’s brand by creating memorable, educational pastry experiences.
Deliver in-store pastry classes with clear instruction and quality recipes.
Communicate advanced pastry techniques in an approachable way.
Assist with class prep, mise en place, and maintaining kitchen cleanliness.
Support store readiness through restocking and organizing supplies.
Ensure safety, sanitation, and compliance with food regulations.
