Job summary

The Michaels Companies in Laveen, AZ, is seeking an energetic Event Coordinator to plan and coordinate children's birthday parties and other craft events in-store. You will engage guests aged 4–94+, demonstrate craft activities, and ensure a stress-free, fun experience with setup and cleanup.

You will handle customer service, manage multiple events, coordinate with store teams, and perform administrative tasks such as emails and calls.

Qualifications

• Energetic and enthusiastic personality with strong people skills.
• Experience working with children and children's events.
• Excellent communication (written, verbal, and nonverbal) and listening skills.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and creative problem-solving abilities.
• Retail or customer service experience required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate multiple events at once, including children's birthday parties and other craft classes or events.
• Engage with clients of all ages, creating an environment of fun and creativity; demonstrate and instruct participants in crafts.
• Facilitate add-ons like goody bags and balloons and communicate events with clients and store team members.
• Handle administrative tasks: emails, phone calls, and paperwork; adjust plans based on client feedback.
• Set up, break down, and clean after each event; ensure safety and cleanliness standards are met.
• Cross-train in Custom Framing selling/production and assist with store cleanliness activities.
