Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a Parts Clerk at our Iowa facility to manage inventory in the parts room, dispense tools to maintenance staff, and monitor usage and part flow. You will enter usage into the computer system, sign vendor tickets, and receive purchase orders.

The role requires reading/comprehending documents, data entry, and ability to work in both cold and hot environments. Prior experience with parts and tools is a plus.

Qualifications

• Maintenance, technical, computer and customer service experience preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Strong reading, writing and communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain parts in inventory tracking system and dispenser tools to maintenance staff.
• Perform usage analysis and monitor parts flow by part number.
• Receive purchase orders and deliver parts to maintenance personnel.
• Stock inventory in parts room and print replenishment documentation.

Job description

SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for maintaining parts in inventory tracking system; performing usage analysis; keeping parts room clean and orderly; dispensing parts and tools to maintenance personnel as needed; identifying and monitoring parts flow by parts numbers; Enter maintenance parts usage in Computer; signing vendor tickets; receiving Purchase Orders; delivering parts to maintenance personnel for a particular job; stocking inventory in parts room and printing documentation on inventory replenishment. Other duties include knowledge of parts/tools used in plant; unload supply trucks, prioritizing daily work with minimum supervision and other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

Education:

High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

Experience:

Extra consideration given to applicants with maintenance, technical, computer and customer service experience; experience working with parts and tools a plus.

Communication Skills:

Excellent written and verbal skills. Must be capable of communicating well both verbally and in writing with all levels of Team Members from hourly to upper management, as well as government officials. Must be able to read, understandand execute and documents, and daily documentation

Computer Skills:

Knowledge of a computerized Stores System that includes data entry and receiving purchase orders; competent in Windows-based software, such as Microsoft Excel and Word.

Other Skills:

Knowledge, skills, and abilities to do intermediate math and accounting; perform tasks with a high degree of accuracy; ability to prioritize and multi-task; work without supervision; be detail oriented; have good attendance; ability to function effectively in a team environment and interact productively with all levels of management and operations/maintenance.

Position Involves:

Ability to work in both cold and hot environments. Ability to walk, bend, squat, sit, and stand for prolonged periods of time. This job requires ability to lift 100 pounds and may require reaching above shoulder height with lift.

This position is slated for candidates who are currently working at this facility and displaced team members. Priority consideration will be provided to these applicants first. If local Team Members are not selected, external candidates will then be reviewed for consideration.
