Job summary

Tyson Foods is seeking a seasoned Production Plant Manager to oversee all functional areas of a pork processing plant, including three shifts, maintenance, safety, quality, scheduling, and process improvement. Responsibilities include leading managers, ensuring quality, and driving improvements across operations.

Qualified candidates will have a four-year degree, 8+ years of progressive experience, and strong knowledge of MS Office and SAP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent required.
• Progressive 8+ years’ experience in a relevant role.
• Experience in the food processing industry preferred.
• General knowledge of computer programs used in production (MS Office) and SAP preferred.

Responsibilities

• Motivate managers to provide guidance and programs to enhance staff skills.
• Resolve issues related to the quality of incoming and outgoing goods.
• Review cost and performance data to identify areas for improvement.
• Support Talent Mapping, Succession Planning, and Retention programs.
• Maintain food safety, quality and legality.
• Identify, evaluate and correct production problems.

Job Summary

This position is responsible for all functional areas of a Pork processing plant including the efficient operation of three production shifts, maintenance, personnel, safety, shipping, receiving, sanitation, scheduling, quality and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• motivating managers to provide guidance and programs to enhance the skill level of their employees;
• resolving issues related to the quality of incoming and outgoing goods;
• reviewing cost and performance data to help determine areas that need improvement.
• facilitating the Talent Mapping and Succession Planning Programs and supporting the Retention Program.
• food safety, food quality and legality.
• initiating discussion and implementation of improvement in all phases of production;
• assisting in identifying, evaluating and correcting problems and performing other responsibilities as the need arises.

Requirements

• Education: Requires broad knowledge in a general professional or technical field normally acquired through four years of college resulting in a Bachelor s degree or equivalent.
• Experience: Progressive 8 plus years’ experience.
• Applicable Experience in Food Processing Industry Preferred.
• Computer Skills: This job requires General knowledge of computer programs used in the operation of the production plant like Microsoft office applications, Word, Excel, Power Point, outlook, and prefer working knowledge of SAP systems.
• Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Travel: 6 to 11 trips per year.
• Supervisory Responsibilities: This position is responsible for managing several groups of personnel who perform diverse tasks and activities in more than one department.
