Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years in parts operations or related roles.
  • Leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience within forklift/material handling/heavy equipment/automotive or dealership industry preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, purchasing, and warehouse operations.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead daily operations of the Parts Department, supervising and developing parts team members.
  • Collaborate with service, sales and branch leadership to support efficient operations and outstanding customer service.
  • Identify opportunities to improve department processes, inventory management, and operational efficiency.
  • Drive parts sales growth while improving customer responsiveness and order turnaround times.
  • Prepare accurate parts quotations, including pricing and product availability for customers and technicians.
  • Source, order, and distribute parts for shop technicians, field service technicians, and customers.
  • Provide technical guidance to technicians by identifying the correct parts required for equipment repairs.
  • Maintain clear communication with customers regarding order status, availability, and delivery timelines.
  • Manage inventory levels through purchasing, cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory control processes.
  • Research and resolve inventory discrepancies while maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely procurement of parts and manage open purchase orders.
  • Monitor inventory turnover and purchasing trends to maintain appropriate stock levels while minimizing excess inventory.

A growing material handling equipment dealership is seeking an experienced Parts Manager to lead its parts department in Western New York. Qualifications

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Experience within the forklift, material handling, heavy equipment, construction equipment, agricultural equipment, automotive, or dealership industry is highly preferred
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control, purchasing, and warehouse operations
  • Excellent customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems, dealership software, and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
