Job summary

Gulf States Engineering Co., Inc. in Covington, Louisiana is seeking a Parts Associate to order parts, maintain records of all shipped and received products, and support the service department in a fast-paced warehouse environment.

Responsibilities include identifying and ordering parts for customers, locating complex parts using catalogs and systems, coordinating shipments between manufacturers and customers, and ensuring accurate inventory documentation while upholding safety and quality

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old.
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and email management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Forklift certified or able to obtain certification.
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Strong sense of time organization and urgency.

Responsibilities

• Help identify and order parts for customers and the service department.
• Source and locate complex parts requests using catalogs and other resources.
• Coordinate ordering and direct shipment of parts between manufacturer and customer.
• Manage shipment and receipt of all products, materials, and supplies.
• Collaborate with logistics companies, service providers, customers, and colleagues.
• Unload, sort, and stock deliveries in a timely manner.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and a neat warehouse.
• Answer calls and respond to emails promptly.
• Complete purchase orders, quotes, sales orders, and shipping documents.
• Package and crate shipments to ensure safe delivery.
