Job summary

Castle Automotive Group McHenry is seeking a Parts Counter Salesperson to manage the end-to-end parts sales process and deliver excellent customer service. The role requires two years of parts-selling experience and a keen ability to read catalog information and quotes.

A valid driver's license and clean record are required, with opportunities to advance within the dealership. You’ll work in a dynamic auto parts department, handling stock, urgent orders, and billing while interacting with both

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience selling auto parts.
• Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment.
• Able to read/interpret safety and maintenance documents.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced automotive setting.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish.
• Converse effectively regarding customer parts status.
• Read and understand the parts catalog for part lookup.
• Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and information.
• Provide high-level service to internal and external customers.
• Pull/fill orders from stock and perform weekly bin checks.
• Notify parts manager of out-of-stock items or urgent needs.
• Locate out-of-stock parts from external sources and order if needed.
• Ensure internal requests for parts are billed on service orders.
• Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee the parts sales process from start to finish
• Converse effectively/efficiently regarding customer parts status
• Read and understand the parts catalog when looking up and speaking to specific parts
• Answer phone calls, provide price quotes and other information to customers
• Provide high-level service to both internal and external customers
• Pull/fill orders from stock and maintain weekly bin checks to ensure accuracy of stock
• Notify parts manager of out-of-stock parts or shop materials that need immediate attention
• Locate out-of-stock parts from outside sources and submit an emergency order, if necessary
• Make sure all internal requests for parts are billed on the service repair order
• Receive payment from retail customers or obtain credit authorization

What You’ll Bring to the Team:

• At least 2 years of experience selling parts
• Eager to improve in a dynamic work environment
• Strong interpersonal and time management skills
• Ability to read/interpret safety and maintenance documentsAbility to calculate figures/amounts including: discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, %, area, circumference, and volume
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Parts Counterperson: $45k - $55k per year

Compensation will be based on performance and experience; pay ranges may vary from displayed amounts.
