Job summary

Ballard Truck Center in West Springfield, MA is hiring a Parts Counter Representative. You will assist walk-in customers, pull parts from stock, quote prices, and support sales orders while maintaining friendly, professional customer service.

The role requires basic computer skills, the ability to lift 50 lbs, and a professional appearance. You will work with customers in person and by phone, and may assist outside sales reps as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have prior, relevant experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
• Must have at least basic computer skills.
• Professional, personal appearance.
• Ability to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time.
• Ability to work both individually and as a team.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs or more.
• Will be required to wear a dealership provided uniform.

Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure that the customer is exposed to the full product line.
• Pull purchased parts from stock
• If the part is not in stock, determine availability and submit an emergency order if requested by the customer.
• Answer phone calls in a timely manner, providing price quotes and other information.
• Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
• Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
• Notify customer re: ordered parts, promptly restock returns, cores.
• Be friendly, professional and efficient when working with all customers, both on the phone and in person
