Job summary

Ballard Truck Center in West Springfield, MA is seeking a Parts Counter Representative to assist walk-in customers, quote prices, and process parts orders. The role includes pulling parts from stock and coordinating with outside sales to fulfill customer needs.

The ideal candidate will have prior relevant experience, basic computer skills, and a professional appearance, with the ability to work with multiple customers and lift up to 50 lbs. A dealership uniform is provided.

Qualifications

• Must have prior, relevant experience.
• Ability to read and comprehend instructions.
• Must have at least basic computer skills.
• Professional, personal appearance.
• Ability to work well with the public, sometimes with several customers at a time.
• Ability to work both individually and as a team.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs or more.
• Will be required to wear a dealership provided uniform.

Responsibilities

• Assist walk-in customers in selecting required parts, suggest companion requirements, offer specials, and ensure exposure to full product line.
• Pull purchased parts from stock.
• If part not in stock, determine availability and submit an emergency order if requested by customer.
• Answer phone calls in a timely manner, providing price quotes and other information.
• Assist outside sales representatives with their orders.
• Set up orders for daily shipment, delivery, or pick-up.
• Notify customer re: ordered parts, promptly restock returns, cores.
• Be friendly, professional and efficient with all customers, both on the phone and in person.
