Job summary

Thatch is hiring a Partner Engineer to own the reliability and success of payroll and HRIS integrations as we scale. You will work directly with customers, integration partners, and internal teams to solve complex technical challenges, validate new integrations, and keep critical connections running reliably.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in partner engineering, solutions engineering, technical integrations, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
• Strong understanding of APIs, including the ability to read documentation, troubleshoot failures, and diagnose integration issues.
• Experience owning complex technical problems across multiple systems, stakeholders, or external partners.
• Confidence working directly with customers, translating technical complexity into clear guidance and solutions.
• Strong ownership mindset, with the ability to independently prioritize issues and drive them through resolution.
• Experience building repeatable processes, documentation, or monitoring practices to improve operational reliability.

Responsibilities

• Own integration health by monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving payroll and HRIS connection issues.
• Lead technical validation by partnering with enterprise customers to test payroll integrations and ensure successful launches.
• Be the technical expert helping customers and internal teams navigate complex payroll configurations and API limitations.
• Drive issues to resolution by diagnosing problems across customers, partners, and engineering.
• Build scalable processes with runbooks, monitoring practices, and workflows to improve reliability.
• Shape how we scale by identifying patterns to improve integrations and customer experience.
