Job summary

Lutheran Social Service of Minnesota in Duluth is seeking a Youth Worker to lead groups with LGBTQIA2S+ youth and allies, creating a safe environment and helping develop social skills.

You will facilitate weekly groups, recruit youth, provide one-on-one support, and engage in data collection and virtual correspondence as required. This part-time, on-site position pays $18 per hour, and offers opportunities to build community relationships and contribute to a supportive ALIVE Workplace.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge or willingness to build knowledge of positive youth development, harm reduction and trauma informed care.
• Ability to pass a background check and a Motor Vehicle record check.

Responsibilities

• Lead groups with LGBTQIA2S+ youth and their allies, creating a safe environment and enhancing social skills.
• Provide welcoming environment; facilitate weekly social/support groups; recruit youth to the support group.
• Facilitate group activities; provide skill-building opportunities that create companionship; build community relationships through presentations to local organizations.
• Provide one-on-one support to youth; provide individual advocacy support to participating youth.
• Some data collection, documentation, and virtual correspondence will be required.
