Job summary

Lutheran Social Services (LSS) Community Resource Program seeks a dedicated professional to support SD DSS youth in foster care as they transition to independent adulthood. You will assess needs, provide case management, and collaborate with partners to craft transition plans.

A $600 signing bonus is available for external candidates. Full-time, 40 hours, Monday–Friday with occasional extended hours; benefits include PTO, holidays, 401(k) match, and health plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in social work or related field required.
• Licensed Social Worker or Licensed Social Work Associate preferred.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must pass agency background checks.
• Active auto-insurance and valid driver's license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Assess individual needs and provide comprehensive case management.
• Provide life skills training and direct support with housing, employment, education, and healthcare.
• Collaborate with DSS staff, foster parents, residential facilities, and community partners to develop tailored transition plans.
• Build mentoring opportunities and coordinate regional youth advocacy events and workshops.
