Job summary

Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston in Stafford, TX is seeking an entry-level Youth Program Assistant for a part-time daytime schedule. The role centers on planning and supervising programs in core areas such as education, athletics, arts & crafts, technology and games room, while building healthy relationships with youth.

You will work with Club Director to implement activities, recruit and train volunteers, manage equipment and supplies, and help track program outcomes.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years’ experience working with youth and families required.
• Demonstrated ability and interest in working with youth required.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written; bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Intermediate computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word & Excel) required.
• Must be able to interpret Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Houston programs and philosophy.
• Valid Texas driver’s license preferred (may be required at some Club locations).
• Must adhere to BGCGH Employee Code of Conduct.

Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise programs in core areas to prepare youth for success and safety.
• Organize noncompetitive programs for drop-in members and visitors daily.
• Develop new programs to boost participation and engagement.
• Identify opportunities for implementing new programs to benefit club members.
• Monitor program outcomes and adjust to member needs.
• Ensure a healthy and safe environment and supervise members.
• Manage facilities and inventory of program equipment and supplies.
• Requisition supplies for the assigned area.
• Work with Club Director to prepare department budget.
• Recruit, train and supervise volunteers; provide feedback.
• Engage parents about opportunities and participation.
