Job summary

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego is seeking a part-time Group Leader in Encanto, San Diego, CA. You will lead elementary and middle school groups, guide activities in the learning center, games room, and outdoor spaces, and support daily operations under a Branch Manager.

You will ensure safety protocols, plan engaging activities, and foster positive relationships with members, families, and staff. Prior experience with youth preferred; CPR/First Aid required within 30 days.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED and some college experience.
• Minimum of 48 college units or completion of CAPE, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of one year working with school-aged youth; knowledge of youth development preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certifications within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead groups of 10–20 youth in recreational and developmental activities in multiple spaces.
• Ensure programs adhere to health and safety protocols and guidelines.
• Plan, lead, and evaluate activities; mentor and guide members.
• Set up and clean up materials daily; supervise equipment safety.
• Assist in food service area following established guidelines.
• Maintain attendance records and build positive relationships with youth and parents.
• Be on duty several hours daily; participate in safety drills and emergency procedures.

Education
