Job summary

The City of Elkhart is seeking a part-time Program Aide in the Parks and Recreation Department. You will assist with planning and implementing recreational programs, special events, sports, and afterschool activities for diverse age groups.

The role supports operations, supervision, setup, cleanup, and supplies while schedules vary for evenings, weekends, and holidays. Responsibilities include organizing activities, managing equipment, maintaining records, and ensuring safety.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience working with youth, adults, or seniors in recreational, educational, or similar settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of recreational activities, sports, arts and crafts, or event coordination is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize recreational activities under supervision.
• Organize supplies and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities.
• Complete attendance and participation records.
• Assist with sports programs, games, and special events.
• Supervise participants and enforce program rules to promote safety.
• Set up and maintain program equipment and facilities.
