Job summary

The City of Elkhart is seeking a Program Aide to assist with planning and implementing recreational programs, events, and activities for all ages. You will support coordination staff with operations, supervision, setup, cleanup, and equipment management.

Scheduling may include days, evenings, weekends and holidays. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma, experience with youth or community programs, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience working with youth, adults, or seniors in recreational settings.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of recreational activities, sports, or event coordination is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize recreational activities under supervision.
• Organize supplies and equipment and implement age-appropriate lesson plans.
• Complete attendance and participation records.
• Assist with sports programs, games, events, and afterschool activities.
• Supervise participants, enforce rules, and promote safety.
• Set up, clean, and store program equipment and supplies.
• Prepare facilities and fields for scheduled activities.
• Maintain communication with supervisor.
