Job summary

The Police Athletic League Inc. is seeking a part-time Outreach Coordinator to recruit and engage youth in Beacon programs in Far Rockaway.

You will lead outreach efforts, build partnerships with schools and community orgs, and connect youth with mentorship and wraparound services. Responsibilities include coordinating referrals, promoting attendance, and delivering engagement activities during evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Associate’s degree or higher in a relevant human services field preferred.
• 1-2 years of street outreach, youth development, or related experience required.
• Knowledge of and history with Far Rockaway community preferred.
• Bilingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute extensive outreach to chronically absent or disconnected youth.
• Build relationships with local schools, faith-based and community-based organizations.
• Coordinate referrals to wraparound services and mentorship programs.
• Provide mentorship to youth and promote Beacon program participation and school attendance.
• Attend community events and convene with stakeholders to support program delivery.
