Job summary

Police Athletic League Inc. is seeking a Recruiter to support the HR team in sourcing, screening, and coordinating candidates for after-school and summer youth programs. The role works closely with the HR Manager and a full-time recruiter to staff programs with qualified individuals.

The assignment spans five weeks with a potential extension, offering a unique exposure to nonprofit recruitment and youth-focused staffing.

Qualifications

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
Minimum 2 years of experience in recruitment, HR support, or administrative coordination preferred.
Experience working in youth programs, education, or nonprofit organizations is a plus.
Strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with applicant tracking systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

Assist with recruiting efforts for after-school and summer program positions, including Group Leaders, Activity Specialists, and other center staff.
Post and maintain job listings across recruitment platforms.
Review applications and conduct initial candidate screenings.
Schedule interviews and coordinate communication between candidates and hiring managers.
Support recruitment events, job fairs, and community outreach efforts.
Maintain accurate applicant tracking records and recruitment documentation.
Assist with onboarding coordination, including collecting required paperwork and tracking clearances.
Provide general administrative support to HR and recruitment team.
