Job summary

Boys and Girls Club Whittier / Pico Rivera is seeking a part-time Youth Program Assistant to support daily activities and behavior plans across program areas.

You will observe and document youth behavior, apply PBIS strategies, and coordinate with staff to maintain a safe, welcoming environment for ages 6–18.

Requires a high school diploma; 48 college credits; 1+ year experience with youth; strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 48 college credits or pass equivalency exam.
• 1+ year experience with children/youth in educational, recreational, or youth development settings.
• Ability to work with youth ages 6–18 and follow PBIS strategies.

Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of daily activities and individualized behavior plans across all program areas.
• Observe, track, and document youth behavior to support interventions.
• Utilize PBIS strategies to reinforce positive behaviors.
• Assist with managing behavioral challenges, including conflict resolution and crisis intervention.
• Establish clear expectations and apply consistent consequences.
• Maintain open communication with Site Facilitator regarding youth progress.
