Job summary

• Ability to understand and follow work instructions and safety methods.
• Ability to discern numbers and information to sort packages correctly.
• Proficient with basic tools and equipment such as scanners, carts and chutes.

Responsibilities

• Move trailers between yards and doors (hooking/moving trailers).
• Coordinate trailer movements with management or central control.
• Document trailer moves using Yard Management System or switcher cards.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on equipment.
• Apply yard switching safety procedures while handling packages.
• Load and unload packages onto/from vehicles, conveyors and carts.
• Sort packages by scanning, reading labels and memorizing information.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
