Job summary

SSS Classic at PCCC is seeking a qualified Professional Tutor to support students in Writing (including Reading, Grammar, Punctuation). This is a part-time, hourly position for candidates with a bachelor’s degree who want to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic journeys.

The tutor will provide subject-specific content, follow program policies, and work with staff to reinforce classroom material while helping diverse students build confidence and skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's, Bachelor's, or Master's degree in a related field.
• A or B+ in the relevant subject.
• 3.25 GPA or higher.
• Tutoring experience is preferred.
• Must be able to work with staff and advise / teach / tutor students from diverse backgrounds; must be sensitive to student needs.
• Flexibility and genuine commitment to supporting first-generation, under-resourced, college-bound students.
• Demonstrate professionalism, creativity, enthusiasm and encourage student success.
• The pay rate is based upon experience and academic degree attainment.

Responsibilities

• Tutor/Mentor will play an active role in supporting the overall academic and personal growth of our students
• Provide subject-specific content to help students grasp and understand key concepts to build academic confidence.
• Uphold program policies and procedures at all times.
• Follow the guidance of the Assistant Director to assist in carrying out the program's policies and procedures.
• Reinforce material students covered in the classroom.
