Job summary

Southcentral KY Community & Technical College is seeking a part-time Writing Tutor to support students in developing writing skills across subjects. The role involves 10–20 hours per week, on-site in the Learning Commons, with opportunities for virtual tutoring as needed.

The tutor will meet with students one-on-one or in small groups, attend trainings, log appointments, and collaborate with staff to promote student engagement and success.

Qualifications

• ENG 101 and ENG 102 with A or B grades
• 12+ college credits completed at an accredited college
• Overall college GPA 3.0 or higher
• Experience supporting student writing or tutoring preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring in person or virtually
• Help students develop writing skills across subjects
• Attend trainings and log tutoring appointments
• Maintain communication with staff and contribute to program feedback
• Support student engagement and success through outreach
