Job summary

The YMCA of West Bend is seeking a Welcome Desk Staff member for early mornings and weekend shifts in West Bend, WI. This part-time role delivers friendly, accurate service to members, processes memberships and program registrations, and supports the front-desk operations with data entry and payment processing.

Under the Membership Manager, you will engage with diverse members, handle inquiries, distribute locker keys, maintain cleanliness, and uphold the YMCA values in every interaction.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR, AED, and First Aid certified preferred/required within 30 days of hire.
• Strong interpersonal, multitasking, problem- solving and customer service skills.
• General clerical skills, including computer proficiency, phone operations, and cash handling.
• Ability to relate to diverse groups of people required.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Uses active listening skills to provide excellent service to members, guests, and program participants.
• Interviews and/or tours prospective members/ sells memberships.
• Builds relationships with members; helps members connect with one another and to the YMCA.
• Handles and resolves membership concerns and informs supervisor of unusual situations or unresolved issues.
• Registers for membership and/or programs by inputting data, collecting payment, and verifying information.
• Enters transactions into the computer system; balances end-of-shifts and reports discrepancies.
• Applies YMCA policies and upholds YMCA core values.
• Hands out locker keys and towels; monitors locker rooms when required.
• Answers the telephone and provides requested information.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
