Job summary

Gwinnett Technical College is seeking an Educational Aide for Web Design in a part-time, non-benefited position within the Computer Science Division. Reporting to the Program Director – Web Design, the role involves supporting student computer users, troubleshooting tech issues, and performing routine lab tasks at Gwinnett Technical College.

The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, basic technical coursework, strong customer service skills, and a willingness to learn

Qualifications

• Minimum: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Some technical college courses preferred (CIST 1001, CIST 1510, CIST 1530).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills; able to troubleshoot OS, hardware, software, Microsoft Office 2013/2016, CD/DVD burning, and printer issues.
• Ability to be flexible in working conditions, schedules; lift 15 to 30 lbs; open to training.
• Attention to detail, multitasking, deadlines, reporting/documenting capabilities, and strong people skills.
• Experience/certification or pursuing certification in Web design/Development, Game Design/Development, Microsoft Office 2013/2016, Web, Browsers, and other computer certifications is a plus.
• Preference given to Gwinnett Technical College CS division students.

Responsibilities

• Accepts direction and feedback from supervisor and follows through accordingly.
• Performs basic administrative/clerical tasks to support the daily operation of the computer lab.
• Provides oral and written reports as required and maintains records/files related to the program's mission.
• Listens to students and offers encouragement and support; maintains a positive attitude to foster learning.
• Displays initiative, reliability and willingness to take on more responsibility.
• Operates office equipment and conducts routine maintenance; types correspondence per guidelines.
• Works flexibly within processes and adapts to new methods and procedures.
• Works as scheduled; adheres to policy for lateness/absence and labor standards.
