Job summary

Gwinnett Technical College is seeking an Educational Aide for Cyber Security in a part-time, non-benefited role reporting to the Program Director – Information Security. Duties include lab support, student assistance, and documentation within the Computer Science Division.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, some technical coursework, and strong customer service, with the ability to troubleshoot devices and software. Training and growth opportunities are available.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Some technical college courses preferred (CIST 1122, CIST 1401, CIST 1601).
• Excellent customer service and communication skills required.
• Ability to troubleshoot virtual machines, OS and hardware/software issues.
• Experience with Microsoft Office 2013/2016 is a plus.
• Willingness to lift up to 30 lbs and adapt to varied schedules.

Responsibilities

• Provides oral and written reports as required.
• Performs basic administrative tasks to support the computer lab.
• Listens to students and offers encouragement and support.
• Maintains a positive attitude to encourage learning.
• Informs staff about changes in meeting times.
• Operates office equipment and performs routine maintenance.
• Types correspondence and documents according to guidelines.
• Maintains program records and daily sign-in logs.
• Demonstrates initiative and responsibility, and adapts to new methods.
