Job summary

University of Michigan College of Engineering is seeking a detail-oriented Web Content Specialist to manage web content, update pages, and ensure accessibility and branding across sites. The role supports SEO/GEO strategies and collaborates with the C&M office to implement improvements.

The position is part-time (20–32 hours/week) with a prorated salary based on a $60,000 full-time base, and may extend beyond 12 months depending on workload and funding.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in UX, Writing, Marketing, Communications or equivalent.
• CMS experience and basic UX training with accessibility knowledge.
• Basic understanding of SEO and GEO concepts.
• Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
• Clear communication and writing abilities.
• Ability to set priorities, manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Update web pages using WordPress and Google Sites and improve information architecture.
• Ensure WCAG 2.1AA accessibility compliance across properties.
• Identify and address SEO/GEO/Accessibility issues and implement solutions.
• Maintain brand voice and content guidelines across platforms.
• Lead stakeholder engagement and communicate project milestones clearly.
• Train partners on web content best practices and govern project scope.
