Job summary

Wesleyan Assisted Living in Georgetown, TX is seeking a part-time Waitstaff to join our Assisted Living and Memory Care community. A background in waitstaff or server roles and outstanding customer service is essential to provide an excellent dining experience for residents.

This 20-hour per week position requires availability on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. The Wesleyan offers a mission-driven workplace and opportunities to contribute to residents’ quality of life.

Qualifications

• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Experience as Waitstaff/Server in restaurant, healthcare, education or senior living helps.

Responsibilities

• Prepare drinks, salads, foods and desserts as directed.
• Prepare dining room and trays for meals.
• Serve meals in dining room or resident rooms and assist with seconds/substitutions.
• Perform general cleaning duties in dining areas and kitchen spaces.
• Count and post meal census.
• Stock groceries and supplies.
• Cross-train for all department positions as assigned by supervisor.
• Handle trash disposal as required.
• Other duties as assigned by Executive Chef or Director of Dining Service.

We are currently looking for a part-time Waitstaff person to work within our Assisted Living and Memory Care community of The Wesleyan. Experience working as a Waitstaff and/or Server in a restaurant, healthcare, education, or senior living environment along with outstanding customer service and a passion for providing an excellent dining experience will be essential to your success as a Server at The Wesleyan.

Essential Job Functions:

• Preparing drinks, salads, foods, and desserts and set them up as directed.
• Prepare dining room and trays for meals.
• Serve meals to residents in the dining room and/or rooms, and be available to check for seconds and substitutions.
• General cleaning duties: May include dishes, pots and pans, equipment, dining room, floors, tables, work areas, etc.
• Count and post meal census.
• Put away groceries and supplies.
• Cross-train for all positions within the department, as assigned by the supervisor.
• May be responsible for the proper disposal of trash.
• May be required to perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Director of Dining Service.

Qualifications & Experience:

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and responsiveness.
• Oriented toward serving others and helping customers.
• Physical stamina to stand for long periods of time.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• A service-minded approach to all aspects of the job.
