Job summary

The Wesleyan in Georgetown, TX is seeking a Part-Time Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with an active Texas license to provide compassionate nursing care in our Assisted Living and Memory Care Community. The LVN will assess, plan, and implement resident care aligned with the resident plan of care and ensure quality, personalized service for each resident.

This role requires strong leadership, excellent patient care skills, and proficiency with online charting.

Qualifications

• Active Texas LVN license is required.
• Minimum of 1 year nursing experience, preferably in Assisted Living or Memory Care.
• Proven leadership ability and strong organizational skills.
• Proficiency with online charting and nursing technology.
• Compassionate, service-minded approach to senior care.

Responsibilities

• Assess, evaluate, plan, and implement resident care plans for assigned residents.
• Administer or supervise prescribed medications and treatments.
• Supervise meals and fluid intake; report issues to physician or Director of Nursing.
• Ensure accurate charting and documentation of medications and treatments.
• Order supplies and equipment as needed.
• Oversee nursing staff and delegate responsibilities to ensure quality care.
• Maintain communication with residents' families during transfers.
• Uphold safety standards and regulations; perform minor housekeeping tasks as needed.
• Complete other duties as assigned by Wellness Director or Administrator.

We are currently looking for aPart-TimeLicensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with a current, active license in the state of Texasto work within our Assisted Living and Memory Care Community at The Wesleyan. The LVN is responsible for the care of resident's needs as identified through resident assessments and as described in the resident plan of care, for the overall nursing care of all residents in assigned unit, and for providing professional nursing care to residents while following established facility policies and procedures. A valid, active license as an LVN within the state of Texas along with excellent nursing skills and care of residents, proven indirect leadership skills of other nursing staff, excellent customer service skills, and a heart for serving residents within an assisted living and memory care community are essential to your success as an LVN at The Wesleyan.

*** This is a PART-TIMEposition and the shift is 7:00AM-3:00PM every other weekend + 1-2 days during the week ***

Essential Job Functions:

• Assess, evaluate, plan, and implement resident care plans and respond to resident needs.


• Administer or supervise the preparation and administration of prescribed medications and/or prescribed treatments.


• Supervise the serving of prescribed diets and fluid intake and report persistent unresolved problems to the physician and the Director of Nursing.


• Ensure that all medications and treatments are charted appropriately by the person administering the medication or completing the treatment and ensure appropriate documentation of any discrepancies.


• Order supplies and equipment as needed.


• Oversee and delegate responsibilities as needed to resident care staff in the assigned unit and assist them as needed.


• Check rooms routinely to ensure residents are being provided the care requested.


• Ensure communication with the resident's family in the event of the resident's transfer to a hospital or post-acute facility.


• Observe and uphold all departmental, community, and organizational safety standards and regulations.


• May complete minor housekeeping duties around the nursing unit.


• Complete other job tasks or job duties as assigned by the Wellness Director and/or the program Administrator.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Must have a current, active, unencumbered license as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the state of Texas.


• Minimum of 1 years’ nursing experience, preferably within an Assisted Living, Memory Care, and/or Skilled Nursing community.


• Must have proven leadership ability.


• A strong ability to organize, plan, and direct nursing services and nursing staff.


• Must be able to handle emergencies, give emergency care, and give emergency instructions.


• Proficiency with technology, including online charting and communications.


• A service-minded approach to all aspects of the job.


• A passion for working within a senior living and a memory care community is a must!
