Job summary

Sorenson Communications is expanding our Video Relay Service (VRS). We seek interpreters to provide Sign-to-Voice and Voice-to-Sign services on full-time and part-time basis in the US and Canada.

A successful candidate will interpret between ASL and English, comply with licensure/certification requirements, and adhere to FCC/RID standards while maintaining attendance and reliability. Training and ongoing education are provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Associate or bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Interpreter certification as required by local regulations.
• 3 years’ interpreter experience preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot basic technical issues.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, regulated, customer-service environment.
• Regular and predictable attendance.

Responsibilities

• Interpret effectively between ASL and spoken English.
• Maintain licensure/certification compliance as applicable.
• Comply with Sorenson standards, FCC regulations, and RID code of conduct.
• Adhere to attendance policy and complete tasks promptly.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to meet VRS industry demands.
• Learn and apply new technologies quickly.
• Work in a team and support colleagues.
• Operate under oversight including monitoring and evaluations.
• Adapt in a fast-paced, highly regulated environment.
• Pursue ongoing education to enhance interpreting skills.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
