Job summary

Montgomery County Government seeks a PART-TIME Victim Advocate – Client Assistant Specialist to support survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault/trafficking, and other crimes. The role focuses on advocacy, safety planning, and linkage to community resources within the Trauma Services team.

The position requires a bachelor’s degree and at least one year of human services experience with client contact. Evening/weekend hours and offsite meetings are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• One year of human services experience with substantive client contact.
• Ability to communicate effectively across cultures.

Responsibilities

• Provide victim advocacy services including court/medical accompaniment.
• Provide crisis intervention and safety planning.
• Complete intakes and assessments (danger assessments, CSSR).
• Develop service plans and link to community resources.
• Coordinate with SAO, hospitals, MCPD and other agencies.
• Assist with crime victim compensation processes.
• Attend meetings at offsite locations as needed.
