Job summary

Montgomery County seeks a PART-TIME Client Assistance Specialist to provide comprehensive victim advocacy for survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault/rape, human trafficking, and general crimes.

The role includes crisis intervention, safety planning, intakes, assessments, service planning, case management, and liaison work with criminal justice and medical partners. Evening/weekend hours apply; telework is not available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• One year of experience in human services with substantive client contact.
• Substitutions: an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides victim advocacy services including court/medical accompaniment and filing protective/peace orders.
• Provides crisis intervention and safety planning.
• Completes intakes and assessments including danger assessments and CSSR.
• Develops service plans and provides case management services.
• Links and refers to available community resources; supports during SAO interviews and forensic exams.
• Collaborates with State Attorneys Office, FJC, DVS, HOR, MCPD, hospital staff and other resources.
• Processes crime victim compensation and liaises with Maryland’s State Crime Victims Compensation Board.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
