Job summary

Highway Veterinary Hospital in Bowie, Maryland, is seeking a compassionate Part-Time Veterinary Assistant to join our growing three-doctor team. We value a supportive, collaborative environment and a commitment to excellent patient care and client communication.

You will collect patient histories, assist during examinations, discuss vaccines and preventive care with pet owners, present treatment plans, and help with diagnostics.

Qualifications

• Excellent venipuncture skills for dogs and cats.
• Experience placing IV catheters preferred.
• Experience administering vaccines and discussing preventive care.
• Strong animal handling and restraint abilities, including fractious patients.
• Proven client communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Collect patient histories and assist during exams.
• Discuss vaccines and preventive care with pet owners.
• Present treatment plans and explain recommendations.
• Assist with diagnostics and treatments; support medical team.
